Purchase order terms for category Waste disposal
The exhibition grounds are subject to the German Recycling and Waste Avoidance and Management Act (KrWG), which sets forth the nature and scope of the application and approval forms for collection, transportation, and disposal of waste.
You, your stand setup contractors, subcontractors, and other partners at your stand shall comply with the KrWG principles on waste avoidance, sorting, and disposal.
All aforementioned parties shall be responsible for proper and environment-friendly disposal of waste produced at all stages of the event, including the setup and dismantling periods.

General notice
Deutsche Messe shall arrange for the proper disposal of waste during setup, dismantling, and the course of the event, through its authorized service providers.
Unauthorized transportation and waste disposal firms are not permitted to enter the Deutsche Messe exhibition grounds.
Please note:
During setup: Upon request by Deutsche Messe or its service providers, you must promptly remove any of your materials in halls that hinder activities or are deemed unsafe. If you do not comply, the materials will be disposed of as waste, regardless of their value, at your expense and with a surcharge.
During dismantling: Any of your materials that are found at the stand and/or on the exhibition grounds after the official dismantling period will be disposed of as waste, regardless of their value, at your expense and with a surcharge.
Proof of waste removal:
If you have not placed a general order for waste disposal, you shall be required to prove that no materials have been left behind. The Deutsche Messe hall inspector will certify the proper condition of the stand space, after a joint inspection with your representative (see sample PDF file "Restoring Stand Space"). If no certification is obtained from the hall inspector, disposal of waste found at the stand will be billed to the respective exhibitor.

General order for waste disposal:
This service is for exhibitors who do not know the kind and quantity of waste they are likely to produce, but wish to request waste disposal via Deutsche Messe's service partner. It covers:
- On-site advice through our service provider
- Clarification of relevant details
- Waste disposal in compliance with the law
- Guaranteed disposal service, with fees based on the actual quantity of waste handled
Containers with a volume of 1.1 m³:
These will be provided for different categories of materials: recyclables, wood, waste, mixed waste/recyclables. The fee includes disposal costs. Please fill the container up to the top edge only; excess waste will be billed separately by volume.
Containers with a volume of >5 m³:
The cost to dispose of large containers is calculated by adding the charges for setup and disposal, whereby disposal charges depend on the type of waste and the net weight. These parameters are based on the weight card issued by the waste disposal company.
Please contact our authorized service partner for information on container fees. The charges for disposal depend on the type of waste and its net weight.
From the time the container is setup and until pick-up, you shall be responsible for any items loaded into the container, with or without your knowledge. Hence, please ensure that third parties do not use the container and that filling/loading is supervised.
How to avoid extra charges:
Loading: transportation of waste is regulated. Proper loading is essential for compliance with regulations and for safe transportation by our service partner. As the customer, you shall be billed for any extra effort required to spread/reload an improperly loaded/filled container, for instance. Therefore, please fill/load the container evenly without overfilling.
Filling: As the customer, you shall ensure that the container is loaded or filled with only one type of waste. Even adding a small amount of waste of another type could cost extra due to waste reclassification.

Rubbish sacks:
Each set contains two 80-liter sacks, one each for recyclable materials and waste. The quantity of sacks ordered will be delivered by our service providers on the last day of stand setup or opening day of the tradeshow. Please place full sacks in the aisle in front of your stand for pick-up in the evening by our service providers. Please note that your own garbage bags will not be picked up.
For organizational reasons, it is not possible to return ordered and returned waste bags that have not been used; however, repeat orders can be placed on site at any time.
To avoid injury, please do not put glass items into the rubbish sacks. Instead, use the containers placed in front of each hall for free disposal of glass (see PDF file: Locations glass container).
Liability, Complaints
Deutsche Messe shall not be liable for any damages whatsoever that arise in connection with the rendering of waste disposal services, unless Deutsche Messe is deemed to have acted with intent or gross negligence.
You must promptly file a complaint of any apparent problems, in writing, to Deutsche Messe's representative for waste disposal and the service provider (see above). Please state your hall and stand number and describe the problem.
Pricing terms for category Waste disposal
Unless otherwise stated, prices are net prices plus statutory VAT.
Only the prices shown on the order form or order screen on the day of the order apply. These are also listed in the confirmation of receipt of the order, which the exhibitor automatically receives immediately after placing his order.
